Research + Collections

The Museum is a collecting institution. The collection concentrates on objects significant to North Carolina beverages and our collective cultural histories. In addition, the Museum accepts objects connected to the larger regional and national context of beverage history that has impacted North Carolina beverages. Current artifacts include everything from textiles, clothing, and tools to glasses, posters, and pictures.

Along with the material objects, the museum actively collects oral history interviews with individuals and organizations connected to North Carolina’s beverage history. These oral histories include interviews with distillery, winery, and brewery owners. Many of the brewery related oral histories have been done in partnership with the University of North Carolina Greensboro Archive’s Well-Crafted program and can be found online here.
